A motivated and dedicated individual, Shelly Sypien has almost three decades of professional experience in the financial services industry. In 2020 she founded her own financial business, Family Focused Financial, in which she helps generations create, preserve and build wealth. As a client first and family oriented business, Shelly focuses on getting to know her clients on a personal level. Part of the planning process includes understanding what is important to the client, meeting the client where they are and then creating a tailored financial plan to work toward their goals. Shelly helps her clients in all personal and professional areas, from preparing for retirement, helping create an income strategy, working toward growing their financial portfolio and protecting what her clients have worked hard to save.
Shelly entered the financial services industry as a Sales Assistant with EF Hutton in Chicago, IL. After ten years and several mergers Shelly joined Morgan Stanley where she obtained her securities licenses and began helping clients manage their investment portfolios. She spent 13 years at Morgan Stanley before joining a team at a Registered Investment Advisory firm where she took on the role of Operations and Compliance Manager. After seven years with the Registered Investment Advisor firm, she decided to move back into a client focused role and joined Edward Jones in 2015. All this experience has prepared Shelly for her current role as a Financial Advisor with Family Focused Financial. Shelly has helped clients through several market downturns and many economic cycles.
Shelly grew up in the small town of Bourbonnais, IL before meeting her husband, David. They eventually found the perfect small town to raise their family and have lived in Sandwich, IL for 22 years. Shelly loves to spend time with her family including their loyal dog, Guinness. She is a member of the Sandwich Area Chamber of Commerce, Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce, and 100+ Women Who Care.
